Eros International's Housefull 2 records a weekend collection of Rs.72 crore gross worldwide

Film reports biggest opening this year after Agneepath

Mumbai, 12th April, 2012: Eros International Media Ltd (Eros International), a leading global company in the Indian film entertainment industry, has announced an opening weekend collection of Rs. 72 crore gross worldwide for Sajid Khan's Housefull 2. The film, co-produced in association with Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment released on 6th April, 2012 worldwide. The film has grossed Rs. 57 crore in India (Net collection: Rs. 40 crore) and Rs. 15 crore overseas.

The first of Eros' big ticket releases this summer, Housefull 2 enjoyed a wide release with 3000 plus screens worldwide.

Speaking on the film's opening, Nandu Ahuja, Sr. VP, India Theatrical, Eros International Media Ltd said, "Despite releasing during the IPL cricket frenzy, Housefull 2 has opened well in theaters across India. With its strong weekend performance, we believe Housefull 2 has also lived up to its name like predecessor."

Housefull 2 is a comedy directed by Sajid Khan and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. It is the sequel to the 2010 hit, Housefull. The film features Akshay Kumar, John Abraham, Ritesh Deshmukh, Shreyas Talpade, Asin, Jacqueline Fernandez, Zarine Khan and Shahzan Padamsee. It also features veteran actors such as Mithun Chakraborty, Randhir Kapoor, Rishi Kapoor and Boman Irani in supporting roles. Malaika Arora Khan features in an item-number song. The music has been composed by duo Sajid-Wajid.
